Dr. Kassir received his medical degree from Aleppo University Faculty of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at St. Luke's / Roosevelt Hospital Center - Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He completed fellowships in both Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at The New York Hospital / Cornell University Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Kassir is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He is also Board Certified in the American Board of Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Kassir has served as an Instructor in Medicine at Cornell University Medical College in New York City. He has been a Clinical Fellow in the Department of Medicine at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and was also a Clinical Fellow at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, both in New York City. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine for the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine.
